The Assassin's Creed series always has great maps to explore in each of the various entries, but Ubisoft has really taken things to the next level starting with Assassin's Creed Origins. Each of them took the idea of the open world to new heights, and Assassin's Creed Valhalla continues that trend with another massive world. Traversing this world from side to side can take some time, but luckily the game gives you a way to get around much faster.
How to travel fast
Assassin's Creed Valhalla has several locations to explore, including Norway, England, and others that we won't talk about right now. For England in particular, the map is sprawling and will have you traveling quite often. This is especially the case when playing through the story, as you go from place to place. Some parts will have you traveling between fairly similar locations, but others will have you traveling long distances.
For your first time traveling to new regions, you're going to have to get there the hard way. This includes running, by mount or in a rowboat, with the mount generally being the fastest. However, this is not the fast travel available in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, as there is a way to teleport around the map and save you a lot of time.
Once you've gone to certain areas, you can return to them later by fast traveling through the world map. This is not possible everywhere, because there are special markers that you can also fast travel. Start by opening the map and looking for anything that is a bluish green color. This means you can hover over it to teleport to that location.
These locations include the eagle icons you have synced the map to, dock anchors, and the house icon of your longhouse in your colony. Choose one of them, then hold A/X to quickly return to them and save time.
