After a long hiatus from the series, Crash Bandicoot has been on a roll for the past few years, including remakes of the original trilogy and Crash Team Racing, as well as an all-new game with Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time. Although the game looks and plays well, there is no doubt that the game is not a graphics powerhouse or anything. This is probably making people wonder if Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is coming to the Nintendo Switch or not, as it seems like a perfect fit.
Is it coming to Nintendo Switch?
Crash Bandicoot 4: It's time to officially release today and from the launch of the game it will only be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, that's only what it's coming out at launch, so we'll see why we think it's a safe bet to come to Switch later.
Toys For Bob was tapped by Activision to handle the development of Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, which was a natural fit for the game. Vicarious Visions may have developed the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane trilogy, but Toys For Bob has actually got to handle the Nintendo Switch port. They also later handled the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, so they've definitely gotten their hands on the 3D platformer genre lately.
When Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy originally launched, it was a timed exclusive for PS4 only. It wasn't until a year later that other platforms arrived, including the Nintendo Switch. The Spyro Reignited Trilogy followed a similar pattern, though it came to both PS4 and Xbox One at launch before coming to both Switch and PC later. This trend was broken with the release of Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled, as it came to the Switch on the same day as the PS4 and Xbox One versions.
Although unconfirmed, I would say it's very likely that Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time will eventually come to the Nintendo Switch. The gameplay is perfect for the handheld system and the fact that every other recent game like this has made its way to the Nintendo Switch bodes well for it to happen again.
