Resembling a Baaler

It might not be the gift you were hoping for, but you know what they say: never look a Beelzebub gift in the mouth.

Today is the 20th anniversary of Diablo II, one of the most influential and beloved PC games of all time. It seems like a good day for Blizzard to reveal the long-rumored, longer-running Diablo II remaster. This does not happen.

Instead, Blizzard gave us a pair of creepy, gruesome wings in Diablo III. Log into Diablo III very soon and you will unlock the Prime Evil Wings. This is what they look like:

Blizzard notes that Baal didn't have wings in Diablo II, rather that this cosmetic is an homage to Baal's festive appendages which are the tentacles that protrude from all over his body. His legacy is "Lord of Destruction" and "Just a really rude son of a bitch." Ā»

As for this remaster, it is not dead in the water yet. Blizzard has shown a propensity to remaster its catalog. It's a bit of a "be careful what you wish for" situation. It could end up as StarCraft Remastered or it could end up as Warcraft III: Reforged.

Celebrate 20 years of Diablo II with Carbot, MrLlamaSC, and new in-game wings![Diablo]
