FIFA 22 is upon us and like all great FIFA games, FIFA 22 lets you play with your friends. What's different about this year's version of FIFA is that you can play with friends in more game modes than ever before. Not everything is given to you, however, so here's how you play against friends in FIFA 22.
How to play with friends in FIFA 22
In this year's FIFA it's all about cooperative play and thankfully that doesn't just mean exhibition and online play. Now, that reach goes much further than ever. You also still have couch co-op, so the multiplayer experience here is about as good as it gets. Here are the modes that have co-op with friends enabled.
Start
The basic couch co-op of FIFA 22, you can play with a friend in this mode by moving your controller icon to the side of your choice. If you want to play on your friend's team, move the controller next to them. On top of that, you can track your head-to-head record if you're logged into your account, which is great for keeping scores for life.
How to play with friends in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team
Ultimate Team has been one of the most talked about modes in FIFA games recently and because of that, the ability to play with friends has been expanded this year.
To play with friends, go to Friendlies in the Play section, then you can select couch play or face a friend online. From there, select your teams and you're good to go.
If you want to change it up a bit, press Triangle or Y to add a controller in Draft, Rival, and Squad Battles. All forms of Ultimate Team can be experienced with friends this time around. To start an Ultimate Team lobby, press R2 or RT to start a co-op lobby at any time and from there you can invite a friend.
How to Play Co-op Seasons in FIFA 22
It's even better because you can now play with a friend in Seasons mode. With a friend, you can choose to select a team together and try to reach Division 1.
To access it, go to Play, then choose a new season, and from there, invite your friends from the list. After doing this, you select who you want to play with and search for an opponent.
How to Play Pro Clubs with Friends
In Pro clubs, playing with friends is very simple and you just need to create a player and then create your own team or join your friends' team. You can also invite multiple people and once you have the amount you want, press play match and choose your position and you are set.
How to play Volta with friends
All modes of Volta are also available and this also includes Single Match, Squads and Story mode. To play with friends in squad mode, select Squad Up, then once in the lobby, choose Invite Friend and there you can invite whoever you want. If you want to play couch multiplayer with your friends, access Volta in Kick-Off mode from the main menu and you're good to go.
FIFA 22 is going to be one of the most immersive and realistic editions of the game and the focus on new animations and movements is going to take the experience to a whole new level.
