Update 1.02 has arrived for GTA Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, and here is the full list of changes and fixes added with this patch. This update is available for the Definitive Editions of Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. All three patches must be installed separately. Each update weighs in at around 1,15GB on PlayStation 4, and other platforms can expect a similar download size. Many issues have been fixed in all three games, so the experience should be much smoother after installing this update. Grand Theft Auto III – The Definitive Edition


  • Fixed issues with blurry camera cuts and transitions during Grand Theft Aero cutscene
  • Fixed an issue where Pay 'N' Spray doors were closed, preventing the player from entering
  • Fixed an issue where playstands and props would spawn in the Gone Fishing cutscene
  • Fixed an issue where the player would fail The Thieves mission with a "A Thief is Dead" message after the cutscene.
  • Fixed an issue with the Last Requests mission failing due to Asuka falling off the boat
  • Fixed an issue with a missing GPS route when riding Curly Bob in a taxi during the Cut the Grass mission

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – The Definitive Edition



  • Fixed an issue where players could not rotate the camera up or down while driving at high speed
  • Fixed an issue with fire truck lights flashing inconsistent colors
  • Fixed an issue with the display of the GPS route during the Autocide mission
  • Fixed an issue where Pay 'N' Spray doors were closed, preventing the player from entering
  • Fixed an issue with multiple GPS routes appearing during Gun Runner and Psycho Killer missions
  • Fixed an issue with the success rate UI not displaying correctly during the Gun Runner mission
  • Fixed an issue with peds appearing incorrectly in The Chase mission cutscene
  • Fixed an issue with the character model of Tommy Vercetti entering a T-Pose during the cutscene for In the Beginning

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition

  • Fixed an issue with rain visual effects
  • Fixed an issue with the camera spinning quickly when completing or failing Blood Bowl
  • Fixed an issue where the camera was incorrectly positioned when returning to the game after finding Sweet in the Reuniting the Families mission
  • Fixed an issue where a bridge in Flint County is invisible
  • Fixed an issue where players could equip weapons while swimming, which could cause issues with weapons clipping through the character's body
  • Fixed an issue where incorrect help text was displayed for swimming
  • Fixed an issue where the results screen would appear at the start of Bike School – Jump and Stoppie
  • Fixed an issue with gray pedestrians appearing around the Willowfield area and Playa del Sevilla
  • Fixed an issue with a pedestrian appearing partially translucent in the Just Business cinematic
  • Fixed an issue with legal text not displaying correctly

  • Fixed an issue with aiming sensitivity for the Ammu-Nation Pistol Challenge
  • Fixed an issue where progress was blocked due to Sweet's untimely death during The Green Saber mission
  • Fixed an issue where the help text would not disappear, causing the muscle stat not to show as an increase in any gym
  • Fixed an issue with incorrect time display when collecting rings during BMX or NRG-500 challenges
  • Fixed an issue with the camera warping during the In the Beginning cutscene
  • Fixed an issue where some character models would not animate during certain cutscenes
  • Fixed an issue with the player getting stuck behind the Cluckin' Bell counter (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One)

Rockstar Games has pledged to improve GTA Trilogy – The Definitive Edition following its overwhelmingly negative reception. In a post on the Rockstar Newswire, the studio announced, “We have plans underway to fix technical issues and improve each game going forward. With each scheduled update, games will reach the level of quality they deserve to be.

For those who prefer the look and feel of classic titles, Rockstar is also relisting the original versions of all three games featured in the trilogy on the Rockstar Store. Anyone who buys GTA Trilogy – The Definitive Edition on PC from the Rockstar Store until June 30, 2022, will receive the classic versions for free as a bonus. Older versions aren't back on sale just yet, but Rockstar will provide an update as they become available.
