Mass Effect was once one of the most talked about series in gaming in the Xbox 360/PS3 era, with the trilogy of games taking us on an adventure unlike most. Mass Effect 3 even came out on Wii U, although the other one didn't. Otherwise, the series stayed away from Nintendo consoles. With the new Legendary Edition of Mass Effect being a remaster of an older game, people are wondering if we'll see it released on the Nintendo Switch.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition arrive-t-il sur Nintendo Switch?
Since the release of the Nintendo Switch in 2022, we've seen many games come to the system that people would never have thought of. That includes games like The Witcher 3 and Doom Eternal, but they got there. For this reason, many people almost expect to see games that are at least from the latest console generation coming to Switch as well.
While PS5 and Xbox Series X/S are out now, Mass Effect Legendary Edition is actually releasing for PS4 and Xbox One rather than next-gen consoles. That would make you think even more that the game would also be coming to Nintendo Switch, but unfortunately that's not the case, at least for now.
Even before Mass Effect Legendary Edition was officially revealed, there were rumors that it would be released for Nintendo Switch alongside the other platforms. However, when the unveiling took place, the Nintendo Switch was nowhere to be found. Since then, we've had a retailer leak saying a Switch version, but that's still far from certain.
Given that Mass Effect Legendary Edition isn't a full remake, you'd think it's a perfect fit on Nintendo Switch. Game size could be a potential issue here though, as the trilogy on other platforms takes up a lot of space. There could be some optimization to get it on Switch, but that would probably take some work.
There's certainly a chance that it could still happen in the future, but it doesn't seem likely, at least in the short term. There are said to be seven EA games coming to Switch over the next calendar year, but it's been reported that this won't be at least one of them. So if you're expecting to see Mass Effect Legendary Edition on Switch, it's going to take a while.
