best enemies is an interesting request from New Pokémon Snap, as it requires a lot of mechanics to get it right. In fact, there's another claim that his goal is the actual pre-requisite for this one, making Best Frenemies a harder task to successfully exit. The entire instance takes place in the Florio Natural Park (night) and below you can find everything you need to fulfill the request as easily as possible.
How to Complete the Best Enemies Request in New Pokémon Snap
To start, the other request I mentioned above is the “Where It Snoozes and Snoozes”, which we already have a guide for if you want to check it out. It's strongly suggested that you do, because the first half of the Best Frenemies challenge is exactly what you did to that one. To summarize:
- Reach the point where on your left there will be a large hole.
- Scan until you see Pinsir's horns coming out.
- Throw an Illumina ball at her to make her jump out of the hole.
- Then throw Fluffruits behind and keep spamming your Scan until Heracross falls from the nearby tree.
These steps are what you need to do up to this point. The best Frenemies take this "chain quest" one step further, so after Heracross falls to the ground, throw Fluffruits and hit him. He'll act frustrated, and since Pinsir will be next to him watching him, I guess Heracross thinks Pinsir is doing all this. In any case, leave them alone for now and continue to descend further down the stage.
At some point, you may see these two again, but this time they will fight. As you watch them, there will be a sleeping Sylveon to your left. Throw an Illumina ball at him to wake him up and he will disappear. Which brings us to the key part of this whole process.
The moment you get close to the two fighting Pokémon, use your Melody. If your timing is right, Sylveon will get out of where he was and get closer to the two troublemakers. It'll say something in their Pokemon-ish parlance, and they'll all start laughing and generally acting friendly. This is the magic moment, you have to focus your camera on Pinsir and take the picture with the gang laughing. This is quite crucial, as focusing the lens on Heracross or Sylveon tends not to count as the frame needed on demand, for whatever reason. Complete the step and come back with the beautiful photo to complete your request.
