New Pokémon Snap has many secrets to reveal, and who or what is hiding The empty room, found in Professor Mirror's lab, is one of them. The professor's lab has two floors, one being the ground floor and the other upstairs, with a wooden floor. However, although we are able to cross the ground, there is no option to climb to the one above. Which makes it a mystery as to what's lurking there, resulting in a request we can make to find out. And below you will find exactly how.
How to complete the empty room request in New Pokémon Snap
Start a run in your research camp, having unlocked it of course in the middle of the game, and take the alternate route very early in the scene. As you get closer to the lab entrance, use your scan to unlock the hidden path through the staircase. This way your NEO-ONE will switch to a route from the lab, strange as it may seem.
As soon as you enter the lab, you have a job to do. Keep throwing Fluffruits on the upper floor. Don't aim for anything in particular, just keep spreading them everywhere. Aim your camera high enough for the fruit to actually reach the inner space, and if you succeed, a very annoyed meow will appear and "hiss" at you, clearly frustrated. Ignore its threats and take as many photos as you want of the specific meow. This is the moment you need to capture to complete The Empty Room request. Now what exactly was that Pokemon doing over there, who knows, but what's important is that you successfully completed your task.
