Got your ass kicked and not sure how to improve your NH3 skills? So for some reason the game doesn't directly tell you that you can and apparently the entire game can be completed without a single upgrade. However, it's not fun at all because you'll miss out on extra moves you can use in battle, such as activating Mustang Mode when performing a perfect dodge. Here's everything we know about how to level up skills in No More Heroes 3.
How to improve skills in No More Heroes 3
To level up your skills in No More Heroes 3 you'll need to earn WESN and then go to Naomi's lab using the pole down from Travis' room or the direct path through Burger Suplex (in the same parking lot as the motel ). Once here, look for the Power Up Machine to the right of the Time Machine which will allow you to spend WESN to upgrade your skills. See below for the cost to max them all out as well as some tips.
Glass Cannon or Meat Boy
Regardless of what you want to acquire first, NH3 uses a very clever point allocation system. Once in the power-up machine, you can browse through each category and see what affects what. Once you have chosen your chosen path, hold down the A button for the WESN injection. Once you reach the required amount, the skill will increase and you will be ready to continue or choose another one. Note that this cost is cumulative. For example, the skill Power level 3 costs 2000 WESN in total, but since level 2 costs 500 WESN, you will only need 1500 WESN to reach level 3. In addition, you can reset your skills for the price of the CPU, so don't be afraid to experiment a bit. See below for the total cost to max out all skills in the game.
- Health (increases Travis' overall HP) - 21 WESN
- Attack (Increases attack power. Seems to affect all damage, not just Beam Katana) – 31
- Power (increases battery limit on Beam Katana) – 17 WESN
- Death Skill (reduces Death Glove ability cooldown) – 13 WESN
- !! Special Moves (unlocks new active moves for Travis to use during combat) – 30 WESN
- Max total of all skills at time of writing – 113 WESN
