Electivire is a solid choice for an Electric-type Pokémon in Pokémon Shining Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl (BDSP), but evolving Electibuzz into Electivire with an Electrifier — try saying that three times faster — can prove to be a difficult task. . In this guide, we'll show you exactly where to find an energizer, so you can evolve your Electabuzz into the ferocious Electivire.
BDSP Pokémon energizer location
Unfortunately for Pokémon Shining Pearl players, energizer can only be found in Pokémon Shiny Diamond. Pokémon Shining Pearl players get Magmortar and the Magmarizer instead.
Elekid in the Great Underground has a 5% chance to hold an energizer, which is the item needed to evolve Electabuzz into Electivir in Pokémon BDSP. Elekid can be found in 'Dazzling Cave' areas, which are Pokémon hideouts found all over the Great Underground except for Ramanas Park, Twinleaf Town, Canalave City (and connecting roads), and Sunyshore City.
To increase your chances of finding Elekid, place statues of seul Electric-type Pokémon in your secret base for a respawn bonus. You can also exit and re-enter a Dazzling Cave to reset spawns until you find Elekid. To get the Electrizer needed to evolve Electabuzz into Electivire in Pokémon BDSP, you can use the Thief move to attempt to steal one from an Elekid. 'Thief' (TM46) can be found by using Cut east of the Galactic Building in Eterna City and following the hidden path.
If you don't have Thief handy, or if you've already used your TM, you can simply grab an Elekid and pull the Electrizer out of it, if it has one.
How to Evolve Electabuzz into Electivire in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
To evolve Electabuzz into Electivire in Pokémon BDSP, you'll need to attach the Electrizer to the Electabuzz you want to evolve, then trade with a friend. Once the Electabuzz is traded, it will evolve and your friend will have to trade it. The energizer can only be used once, as it is consumed when used when trading. If you don't have an Electabuzz yet; Elekid evolves into Electabuzz at level 30.
You can trade friends online by pressing the "Y" button in the overworld and joining a union room. Use the local room for in-person wireless communications, or the global room if you're trading online, and create a link code for you and your friend to use. It is important to note that using the Global Room and trading online requires an active Nintendo Online membership.
Shiny Diamond Pokémon and Pokémon Shining Pear are available now for Nintendo Switch.
