Each new Pokémon GO The event features its own set of unique challenges, but the Searching for Legends event has a few that are really tough. Even with increased wild spawns for some characters, Timed Research and other quests can put even the toughest trainer to the test. But there are several ways to skew things to your advantage. To help you with two of the tougher tasks in the Timed Legends Search quest, here's how to catch Steel-type Pokémon in Pokémon GO.
How to Catch Steel-Type Pokemon - In Search of Legends
Whether you want to catch more Steel-type Pokémon for your collection or as part of the Timed Research in search of Legends, there are several ways to do so during the event. You will find a few in the wild, such as Magnemite, Aron, and Lairon. Be on the lookout every time you play Pokémon GO and reach Stage 5 or 7 of the Timed Research in search of Legends.
However, sometimes wild spawns just won't be enough, especially when you need to collectively capture 45 Steel-type Pokémon. Luckily, there's an even higher chance of Steel Pokémon appearing when Incense is active. Alolan Diglett, Skarmory, and Beldum, as well as those listed above, will all spawn more frequently when using Incense. This gives you plenty of chances to catch Steel-type Pokémon during the Searching for Legends event, even without going into the game's other mechanics.
But once you do, the opportunities become nearly endless. Raids also feature many Steel Pokémon, such as Alolan Diglett, Klink, Magneton, Skarmory, and Metang. Fight and defeat these characters to achieve another of your goals. But the true prize should be saved for this final stage which requires you to catch 45 Steel-type Pokémon.
The Mystery Box will be your best friend if you're wondering how to catch more Steel-type Pokémon for the Searching for Legends event. This will give you a quick and easy way to catch over a dozen Meltan, all Steel-type. I recommend saving it for the final task where you need to catch 45 Pokemon, unless you're running out of time. This also counts for the Use Incense task, which kills two birds with one stone. Just keep in mind, as the guide linked above explains, that you can only use it once every three days.
