Pokémon Unite: How to play on PC

So you're probably looking at this title and thinking it's just another piece of Pokémon United clickbait not to be on PC. In fact, it's not, and just bare with me. With the power of emulation, you can actually play this game on a legitimate PC or Mac.

Pokémon Unite was originally only on Nintendo Switch until recently when it was released on mobile devices like Android and iOS. Emulation is generally frowned upon by many people due to the implications of legal issues that have arisen from it in the past. With a game like Pokémon Unite, this method is completely legit and doesn't violate any kind of gray area of emulation and its legality.

How to Play Pokémon Unite on PC

So, we are not going to emulate this game with a Nintendo Switch emulator like Yuzu. The hardware is still relatively new and not completely stable to provide an authentic experience with current Nintendo hardware. It also does not support online features.

This is where Bluestacks comes in. Bluestacks is an Android emulator that you can use on PC. It is completely free and updated regularly. You can download it directly from their website. The site will also display the different apps you can download along with the system requirements to run it.

To get started with Bluestacks emulation, you must first check your hardware specs. There are minimum and recommended benchmarks to get an optimal and smooth experience while playing on Bluestacks. Then download the installation file from their website homepage. Follow the download instructions as you normally would from an installation file.

The program should then start with an almost blank interface, like a new phone would when turning it on for the first time. You can access the Google Play Store right off the bat. You will need a Google account to use the store. Once you have it all figured out, just find the game and download it like you would if you were on Android.

Pokémon Unite on mobile will run like it does on an Android or iPhone, so it won't look like it does on the Switch despite running on more powerful hardware. The program allows FPS and graphics optimization settings that you can change to your liking.

Also, with Bluestacks, you can map buttons on your keyboard or even on a gamepad, which the program should be able to recognize. You wouldn't want to use a mouse click to move around with a game designed with on-screen buttons.

You can actually transfer your progress from your Switch and real mobile accounts to that of Bluestacks without any problem. Just don't try to log in on multiple devices at once.
