Although she has been absent since the full launch of Valorant, killjoy has proven to be an unstoppable force recently thanks to her incredible amounts of utility. If you throw his various gadgets at a site, you can guarantee some unsuspecting enemies will be in for a nasty surprise. If you remember a little while ago we made a guide on how to use it effectively on Split with very powerful setups. As such, this guide will look at how to best use Killjoy on Ascent, along with some quick tips.
Warning: This guide does not include an intermediate guide because, as with other maps, holding in the middle with Killjoy is not optimal and should be avoided if possible.
Configurations du site A de Killjoy
As with the previous guide, each turret spot is marked black, alarm bot marked red, and swarm grenade spot marked blue. As for the spots, you will find great success by placing the turret on the left squares, either behind them or on one of these two elevations. If the turret is pre-capped by the enemy, then on green squares, the generator or in the sky should come in handy. As for Alarm Bot locations, on the way to the door, next to the archway, and at the default factory location are all great locations. The Swarm Grenades should still complement the Alarm Bot spots for massive damage, but the two surrounding the Alarm Bot in front of the door should still complement this spot. You'd be surprised how many free wins it can net you.
If you find that the enemy team is pushing from the middle towards the garden, there are several ways to counter this well. For example, you can set up an alarm bot and a swarm grenade combo at the initial garden gate. You can also set it up so that the enemy will be grabbed by the two swarm grenades and the alarm bot combo. Although not shown here, you can also place your turret behind glass in paradise to catch the enemy off guard. I don't personally suggest this, as it leaves no tool for information about enemies breaking into a site itself.
Site B configurations
In my opinion, Site B is where Killjoy really shines. In fact, this is my favorite site for the entire game. From the site itself, having your alarm bot/swarm grenade setups as shown in the alley can be a devastating combo for attackers. This is a very common thrust angle and will therefore allow you to regularly kill free kills. You can also throw your swarm grenade at the default factory site if you're looking to catch a planter off guard. As for the turrets, I prefer the spots made of logs and above the green squares because they can melt those caught in the alley. You can also place it in the back corner if you are looking to catch those growing on the site. As an added tip, I suggest sitting in the Boat House when holding this site. This will make it easier to clean up those caught in your carefully placed traps.
Moving on to the front of the site, there are a few other places you can consider. As for the turrets, set them up either in the small hangar (they are light gray for clarity, but still signify turret points) or on the ledge near the defender spawn point. You also need to set the alarm bot and swarm grenade near the door to catch the sprouts. These can also be exchanged if desired. As an added tip, standing in the market can be effective, as you can peek once an enemy is caught by these traps.
