Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania has a lot to offer in terms of content, especially when it comes to all the different courses it offers. Another interesting aspect of the game is its generous number of characters to play, as well as the cosmetics they can put on. There is also an assortment of different modes to unlock.
However, in doing so, you'll need to spend points to unlock pretty much everything except levels. This includes all of the above. Here are different ways to earn points so you can start buying things to your liking, including additional modes.
How to Earn Points in Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania
Points are basically earned for every in-game activity you complete. It is a currency that can accumulate quickly until you want to buy things in bulk. The amount of cosmetics, characters, photo mode effects, and promotions might seem a little off-putting compared to the high prices, but don't worry.
Play story mode
By naturally playing the game, mainly the main story mode, you will earn at least 100 points minimum plus bonuses. These bonuses include any bananas (or modified collectibles depending on the crossover character) you collect per level. Since there are hundreds of levels to play, this will naturally net a ton of points.
Complete Missions
"Missions" in Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania is just another word for challenges. These missions are by mode and by level, all with different point values when completed. There are missions like clear a level, clear a level without the assist feature, clear a stage with (x number) of bananas, or within a certain time limit.
Play without the assist feature
Struggle purists will have a field day with this one. With the removal of lives per run and the addition of a "helper feature", the game will offer incentives for extra points. Completing stages without the feature will earn you an additional 200 points per level completed on top of the guaranteed 100.
The default option is already configured to be disabled. However, the more you tend to fall at a certain level, the game will recommend you to do so. You can always choose not to. Think about it when you die too much in Super Mario Maker and Luigi asks if he can give you a hand. Don't do it unless you're really at your wit's end.
Play board games!
Believe it or not, you can actually earn points which will allow you to unlock new things by playing board games. This mode also has its own set of missions per game. Each completed mission earns you 300. If you want to take a break from the main game but still want to unlock more stuff, spend some time on this to refresh your memory.
Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania will be released on October 5, 2022 on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series S/X, and Nintendo Switch. You can check out our review and other content about the game by clicking here.
