It's no secret that Killjoy is a true defensive powerhouse on almost every map in Valorant. Its turret provides unparalleled intel, its alarm bot gives an insane debuff, and its swarm grenades mop up whatever else survives. She can be an incredibly powerful agent in the right hands, but requires a bit of game savvy to use effectively. As such, we've reviewed all of the maps including Haven, Split, Bind, and Ascent to provide you with some amazing setups to use defensively. There's one last card left (at least for now), though, and that's what we'll be covering today. In this guide, I will tell you how to best use Killjoy on the Icebox map in Valorant!
Valorant: Best setups for Killjoy on Icebox
Valuing Killjoy Site A
As with previous guides, the turret spots are marked black, the alarm bot spots marked red, and swarm grenades marked blue. As for Site A, Killjoy has some pretty solid turret placements. This is mainly due to the enemy having to funnel through a fairly large choke point, meaning your turret only has a few spots to check. Just be sure to vary it between the few locations to keep enemies on their toes. Alarm bot spots are pretty standard, just check for enemies that engage the site. Swarm Grenades, on the other hand, can either supplement alarm bots or save time by denying bomb factories at the default factory site. Nothing too exciting here, but a few things to note nonetheless.
Special mention – Mid
I normally don't give a config for the middle, but Icebox is an exception to that rule. If you ever find yourself manning the kitchen (which isn't the best but it's doable), throwing your turret there can be nice for getting intel. It's also quite hard to hit if placed correctly, which means free damage awaits you. You can also fire up your alarm bot and swarm grenades around the kitchen to set yourself up for a quick kill (…never said I was good at puns).
I won't try to sugar coat it, Site B on Icebox is arguably the worst hold for Killjoy in all of Valorant. Its turret slots are good, as there are plenty of long sightlines to watch out for both in the middle and the long corridor leading to site B. You can even put your turret by the snowman in the back if you desire it. The problem is your Swarm Grenades and Alarm Bot, which offer very little beyond their most basic purpose. Most of the time they will gain little value in other locations, with your alarm bot being good for watching full site engagement and for enemies behind yellow. Otherwise, it's best to use your swarm grenades to deny the two default factory slots.
All in all, I hope you have some value here to effectively use Killjoy on Icebox. I wouldn't personally suggest it due to how hard it is to hold Site B, but if you fancy playing around with it, it should at least provide some solid value. If so, be sure to let me know in the comments below. Also, share it so it can help others!
