Developed by Toby Fox, Deltarune is a popular RPG that has you exploring a city inhabited by monsters. The game is divided into chapters, and chapters 1 and 2 won over players and critics with their cute art style and humorous tone. Naturally, this has left many wondering when Deltarune Chapter 3 will be released.
Deltarune Chapter 3 Release Date
Unfortunately, Toby Fox has yet to announce a release date for Deltarune Chapter 3. However, he has defined how the release of the remaining chapters will go. At the Deltarune site, he states that Chapters 3, 4, and 5 are in the works. However, unlike the first two chapters, you will have to pay for them. Although a price has yet to be set, you can expect it to "cost more than Undertale".
Therefore, Chapter 3 will not be released until Chapters 4 and 5 are ready to release. Since these chapters are still in development, this may take some time. There was a three-year gap between Chapter 1 and Chapter 2, which also suggests that the wait for the remaining chapters may be particularly long.
Luckily, there's still plenty of Deltarune out there for you to enjoy while you wait. Deltarune Chapter 1 was released for free on October 31, 2022. You can buy it on PC, Switch, and PS4. Chapter 2 was released on September 17, 2022. It is available on PC. Like Chapter 1, Chapter 2 is free.
Fox is also known for developing Untertale which, like Deltarune, is a 2D RPG. The games share a similar combat system, although Deltarune features many welcome improvements. Since the release of Undertale in 2022, Fox has served as composer on a number of popular titles, including Pokemon Sword and Shield.
