WoW Classic TBC (The Burning Crusade): How to Get Flying Mount

WoW Classic à confirmer (The Burning Crusade) is finally here and it's the perfect time to get our flying skill and mount to soar through the skies of Outland. Flying in The Burning Crusade was revolutionary at the time, as in vanilla World of Warcraft it wasn't possible without the aid of a Flight Master. Being able to save huge amounts of time by simply flying in a straight line and exploring hidden areas and every corner of the new expansion was just too good to be true. Here comes the time again when you need to complete every quest and dungeon to gather everything needed. Take a look below as we explain in detail.

How to Get Flying Skills and Mount in WoW Classic TBC (The Burning Crusade)

The requirements are extremely simple, but problematic indeed. All you have to do to be able to fly in Outland is to reach level 70 and collect the necessary amount of gold. The flight skill comes in two versions: normal and epic. Normal flight allows you to fly through the sky at 60% movement speed, while an epic total of 280%. The difference is very significant, as the normal version is literally slower than the maximum speed you can achieve with a ground mount at the highest level. Additionally, you must also have a mount capable of flight, and these are not cheap, nor easy to find by other means.

Here is a list of all skills and flying mounts available in the game, right from the start after reaching level 70:

  • Normal flight skill: 800g
  • Epic Flight Skill: 5.000g
  • Normal flying frame: 100 g
  • Epic flying mount: 1.000g

It is true that gold in WoW Classic TBC is easier to farm than WoW Classic, but the amount needed for everything mentioned above is still significant. Be sure to save up plenty of gold as you level up and do all the endgame content TBC has to offer to get that cash.

Where are the vendors and trainers?

Back in the day, the vendors and trainers to get your flight toolkit were in Hellfire Penninsula in Thrallmar for the Horde and Honor Hold for the Alliance. In a later patch, this was changed to have everyone in Shadowmoon Valley, which is the case with Classic WoW TBC. Blizzard has made this change since the start of the expansion, so expect to find everyone there. The NPCs you are looking for are:

Horde

  • Shadowmoon Village – Olrokk: Flying Skill
  • Shadowmoon Village – Dama Wildmane: Flying Mount

Alliance

  • Wildhammer Fortress - Ilsa Blusterbrew: Stealing Skill
  • Forteresse de Wildhammer - Brunn Flamebeard: monture volante

Additional flying mounts you can find

Reputation

  • Netherwing: Unarmored Nether Drakes
  • Sha'tari Skyguard: Nether Rays
  • Cenarion Expedition: Cenarion War Hippogriff

Drops

  • Ashes of Al'ar: Kael'thas Sunstrider in Tempest Keep (Phase 2)

**Ashes of Al'ar defaults to a 310% movement speed mount

Engineering

  • flying machine
  • Turbocharged flying machine

Class-Exclusive

  • Druid's Flight Form - Spell available at level 70. Upgraded version is obtained through a quest line

PvP

  • Armored Netherdrakes

That's all you need to know about Flight Skills and Mounts for Wow Classic to be confirmed. Being able to fly is a central aspect of the not-so-new expansion, so it will most likely be one of your end-game goals as you continue your journey to Outland.
